HMS Drake

The Royal Naval Barracks at the Devonport Naval Base (Devon, England) is called HMS Drake.  As well as providing accommodation for the crews of ships in the base, HMS Drake provided facilities for training

HMS Glendower

A training establishment during World War 2, HMS Glendower was based at the Butlins holiday camp in Pwllheli (Caernafonshire, Wales).

HMS King Alfred

A training establishment in Hove (Sussex, England)

HMS Royal Arthur

Shortly after the start of the Second World War, the British Admiralty requisitioned the Butlins Holiday Camp at Ingoldmells near Skegness (Lincolnshire, England) to be HMS Royal Arthur – a land-based establishment commissioned on 22nd December 1939 as a training establishment. 

It served throughout the Second World War as the central reception depot for new naval recruits.
