Preservation

Introduction

The “seven pillars” of a One-Name Study are Data Collection, Analysis, Synthesis, Publicising, Responding to enquiries, Publication of  results and Preserving the study.  This section pertains to Preservation.

Approach to Preservation

The “study” comprises its data, methodology and results. This website aims to incorporate the methodology and results and – in being hosted by the Guild of One-Name Studies’ Members’ Website Project (MWP) – will be preserved for as long as the Guild is in existence. Further means of preserving the site are being investigated.

The data is a separate problem – comprising as it does of hundreds of images and Giga Bytes of data – and is being investigated.
