This section of the study looks at the mortality rates of those with the GRAY and GREY names. The definitions used in this section are given below, as is a table containing the base-line data for the United Kingdom. The results of this analysis will be provided in the summary.

Definitions
A basic measure of the level of mortality in a population is given by the crude death rate. This is defined as total deaths per thousand population.
The ‘infant mortality rate’ (actually a ratio) is defined as the number of deaths at ages under one year per thousand live births in the same period.
