Buried in the military cemetery there. Second Lieut. Lockwood wrote: "He was wonderfully brave and splendid all through the severe fighting in November and I miss him very much”. He m. at Southend Wesleyan church 26 May 1912 Hannah (27 Woodhall Terrace, Thornbury, Bradford), dau of John Denby and had a dau, Edna, b. 28 Sept. 1914.
