     George Gatenby was born on 20 March 1796 at Lastingham, Kirkbymoorside, Yorkshire, England, .1 He was the son of John Gatenby and Hannah Yoward.1 George Gatenby was baptized on 17 April 1796 at Lastingham, Kirkbymoorside, Yorkshire.1 He married Esther Ward on 12 November 1819.2,3 George's death was registered in the December quarter of 1876 in the Selby registration district.4
