     Frederick Victor Scales was born circa 1887 at Cogenhoe, Northamptonshire, England, .1,2 He was baptized on 17 April 1887 at Cogenhoe, Northamptonshire.3 His birth was registered in the June quarter of 1887 in the Hardingstone registration district.4 He was the son of William Alfred Hawkesford Scales and Lizzie Harriet Wright. The marriage of Frederick Victor Scales and Florence S Fox was registered in the March quarter of 1913 in the Portsmouth registration district.5 Frederick Victor Scales died on 26 October 1918. He was buried after 26 October 1918 at Vichte Military Cemetery, Anzegem West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, ; In June 1933, 31 graves were moved to Vichte from Sweveghem Churchyard.2
